Fetch Rewards Review 2024: Is Fetch Rewards Legit?

If you are located in the US and looking to make some extra money without much extra work, you should consider adding the Fetch Rewards app to your phone. This Fetch Rewards review will help you understand if this cash-back app is for you.

Fetch is one of the best grocery shopping apps that allows you to earn free rewards on everyday grocery runs. Yes, you read it right. By simply snapping pictures of your receipts and upload them, you will be able to enjoy free rewards on groceries and thousands of products every day.

Fetch app, just like the Drop App, is one of the easiest apps out there to make extra money on the side. I thought that it’d be beneficial to write a comprehensive Fetch Rewards app review to help you decide if you should download this app to your phone.

Fetch Rewards Review: Big Questions

This review on Fetch Rewards will cover every little thing you want to know about this grocery rewards app. You will discover what it is, if it is legitimate, how to sign up, and how to make money with this platform.

What is Fetch Rewards?

Fetch Rewards is an app that allows you to collect points on your grocery purchases. As an app user, you simply go grocery shopping and upload receipts to redeem for rewards. Super easy, isn’t it?

Is Fetch Rewards really free to use?

Yes, Fetch is completely free! It does not cost anything to sign up, and it does not cost anything to scan and upload your receipts.

Is Fetch Rewards Legit? How can Fetch Rewards sustain itself?

Many people ask, “Is Fetch Rewards legit?” After all, money has to come from somewhere if they are giving out cash rewards right?

This is a valid concern, but rest assured that Fetch Rewards is a legit app. According to the Fetch Rewards official website, so far, more than 624 million receipts have been scanned and uploaded via the app. The app itself has also received almost 145,000 reviews on Google store and 1.1 million ratings on the App store.

Fetch Rewards has been around for many years, and it is not a scam. The key to their business model is that they act as the bridge between manufacturers and consumers.

On the one hand, manufacturers are eager to showcase their products to consumers. On the other hand, consumers are financially savvy, and we all appreciate a discount on a quality product. Fetch acts as the liaison between the two and works with manufacturers to give you rewards for specific products. By using this app, you will get the products you want with a great cash-back, the manufacturers can make a sale, and Fetch gets to be a happy medium providing valuable service for both parties. This is the definition of a win-win-win situation.

Does Fetch Rewards really give you money?

Yes, of course! Fetch Rewards does give you money! Once you earn rewards for as little as $3, you can redeem free gift cards!

The conversion rate is 1,000 reward points equal to $1.

Here is a sample lift of gift cards that you can redeem:

  • Sephora
  • Best Buy
  • Xbox
  • American Eagle
  • Banana Republic
  • Gap
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Visa prepaid card
  • Apple iTunes gift cards
  • Chipotle
  • Amazon gift cards
  • etc, etc.

In addition to redeeming gift cards at the most popular retailers and restaurants, you can also use your points for charitable donations or to enter monthly sweepstakes.

How does Fetch Rewards work? How can one earn points?

As I said before, you can earn points by simply scanning and uploading your grocery receipts via the Fetch Rewards app. No hoops to jump through. No pre-selecting offers, no scanning barcodes, no surveys, no ads – you scan your receipts and you’ll earn points!

By using Fetch, you can earn points via the six main ways below:

Upload receipts from any grocery run

Yes, you read it right. You do not have to shop at any specific grocery store or purchase any specific items. Fetch accepts receipts from all types of stores. Whether you shop at big-box stores, mom-and-pop corner stores, drug stores, liquor stores, convenience stores, or even hardware stores, you can earn Fetch Rewards of 25 points per receipt as long as you upload the receipt. Super easy, right?

Of course, 25 points is just the minimum. You will earn more if you purchase any special offers or participating brand items.

Purchase special offers

If you want to earn extra points, then you want to pay attention to the special offers. These special offers are specific items that Fetch Rewards showcases to consumers. There are usually up to a dozen of these available at any given time. If you purchase any of the special offers, you will receive bonus points if your uploaded receipt contains such a purchase.

The special offers can give you 1,000 to 5,000 points. At $1 per 1,000 points, you can receive up to $5 back. It is a pretty easy way to make $5, isn’t it?

Purchase participating brands

Next up on the list, we have participating brands. When you purchase from participating brands, you can earn around 100 to 200 bonus points.

Fetch Rewards partners with around 300 brands, including very well-known ones like Staples, Burger King, Nike, Nordstrom, etc. Although you may not necessarily plan your shopping around these brands, the bonus points are very nice-to-haves if you happen purchase any of these brands.

Upload other retail receipts

Believe it or not, Fetch gives you points if you upload shopping or dining receipts from any other retailers. The reward level is relatively small at only 5 points per receipt, but, 5 points every time is still pretty good, right?

Join the Huggies Rewards+Fetch program

This is a special partnership that Fetch has with Huggies. If you are opt-in for this program, you can earn bonus points when you buy diapers. For new parents and grandparents out there, this is a must-have.

You can earn 5,000 Fetch Rewards points with $150 eligible Huggies purchase.

Upload electronic receipts

With the rise of online shopping, Fetch no longer limits itself to accepting just physical receipts. Fetch Rewards allows electronic receipts now. It has launched a digital receipt program, called eReceipts, that will allow consumers to redeem points for products they purchase online.

To participate, you must connect your Amazon account or your email address.

The list of major retailers who participate in the eReceipts program include:

  • Walmart
  • Costco
  • Target
  • Instacart
  • etc

Fetch Rewards Review: the Sign-up Process

The sign-up process is fairly straightforward. Here are the steps. I am also going to include some pictures to walk you through the process visually.

Take out your phone & download Fetch Rewards app

Open your browser on your phone and type in “bellawanana.com/fetch” (iOS) or bellawanana.com/androidfetch (Android). The links will take you directly to the page to download the app.

As shown in the screenshot below, you can sign up for your Fetch Rewards account with your email, your Google account, or your Facebook account.

You will then be re-directed to provide a bit more personal information, such as your birthday, gender, phone number, and state of residence.

That’s it! Click on “Start Saving” at the bottom, and you will be led to your Fetch Rewards page. You can start saving by uploading your first receipt!

Receipt scanning limits

Fetch Rewards does have a limit on how many receipts you can upload. Over a rolling 7-day period (or every week if it is easier to remember), up to 28 receipts can be scanned. If you hit that 28 receipt limit in the 7 days, you will not be able to scan new receipts until the oldest of those 28 receipts fall outside of the 7-day period.

If you are waiting to scan a receipt with a product that qualifies for a special offer, you can still complete that offer when you scan the receipt, as long as the checkout date of the receipt is within the time frame of the offer, even if the offer has since expired.

Fetch Rewards Review: the Referral Program

Fetch Rewards also has a referral program for its users. Each time you refer a friend who then submits their first receipt, both you and your friend get at least 2,000 bonus points. This is a total win-win, isn’t it?

Who is Fetch Rewards for?

Are you still wondering if Fetch Rewards is for you? Answer the following questions for yourself:

Do I do a lot of grocery shopping?

At the end of the day, Fetch Rewards is primarily a cash-back app for groceries. Although you can receive some cash-back on shopping at other retailers, the rewards are relatively small. Most of the large rewards and special offers are tied to grocery items. Therefore, I recommend that you use this app only if you are responsible for buying groceries for your family.

Will I remember to upload my receipts?

You have to be honest with yourself on this one. You can only benefit from the app if you remember to upload your receipts regularly. If you often forget where your receipts are or even forget to ask for them at checkout, then you may not benefit from having this app as much as you like.

Am I looking to make $1000 in a week?

If the answer is yes, then uploading receipts to earn cash-back isn’t for you. But if you are only looking to make some money on the side when you have some downtime, then it can be a great thing to add to your life.

Do I mind spending a few minutes to scan receipts?

I personally don’t mind spending a few minutes if that means I can get some cash-back. However, if you find that uploading receipts annoys you more than the happiness you derive from the extra dollars, then you may not necessarily need the app in your life.

Do I have time in my life to upload receipts?

As I mentioned above, uploading receipts doesn’t typically take a long time, but it still takes some time. If you are already working 2 jobs or feeling stressed out already with everything that is going on in your life, take a deep breath, and focus on your other priorities first. You don’t necessarily need another app in your life.

Alternatives to Fetch Rewards

Of course, Fetch Rewards isn’t the only app that rewards you for some simple actions. Below are a few comparable ones. They have all been around for quite some time, and all have a solid reputation. Fetch Rewards is currently only available in the US, but if you are located outside of the United States, you can still use some of the apps below.

Make money online by doing surveys

The surveys on Swagbucks can be as short as 10-15 minutes.

Pinecone Research

Pinecone Research is one of the highest paying survey sites out there. Depending on the survey lengths and genre, you can get paid $3 or more per survey.

This platform was one of the very first survey sites that I tried when I was still a student struggling to find ways to pay for my college tuition. The extra cheques in the mail (yes, they actually sent out cheques!) always brightened my day.

Of course, Pinecone has evolved a lot since then. It now has an accessible survey app that you can use to take surveys no matter where you are.

The platform also holds giveaways and sweepstakes for all its members. Fingers crossed and I hope you win! Sign up for Pinecone research here!
